Surfaces in a Crater in Hellas Montes Region

Surfaces in a Crater in Hellas Montes Region

Surfaces in a Crater
The objective of this observation is to determine the nature of various surfaces in a small crater in the Hellas Montes region of Mars. Is the crater being exhumed or is it being buried? One side appears to have a smooth scarp while the other side displays a gentle slope with a rough surface. This image may help us understand the effects of orientation in the development of these different surfaces.
