Candidate ExoMars Landing Site at Hypanis Valles Outflow

A Possible Landing Site for the ExoMars Rover at Hypanis Valles
This digital terrain model (DTM) covers an area adjacent to one of the possible landing sites for the European Space Agency's ExoMars 2020 Rover near Hypanis Valles. The landing site for the rover lies to the northwest of this DTM. The DTM has been used to determine topographic information that would allow the rover to land and navigate the terrain safely.

At the outlet of Hypanis Valles lies a large sediment fan, a possible delta, which is the main reason this site warrants investigation. The fan covers much of the southern part of the DTM and is thought to have formed within a standing body of water. The fan is cut by a channel, which occurred after the fan was deposited. We can use the DTM to measure the depth of this channel.
