This part of the Ophir Chasma floor is fractured in the north, and in the southern half displays a gentle scarp parallel to the chasm trend, and then a very densely cratered floor zone, possibly related to very old debris aprons. Fracturing and scarp formation may also be related to the formation of the chasm.
