Change detection is our primary interest here, and the ice in Louth Crater is potentially both growing and shrinking in the current Martian climate. In addition, we can get stereo coverage of the eastern part of the mound for more detailed analysis. Louth is a 36-kilometer diameter crater in the northern plains of Mars; the mound itself is about 10 kilometers in diameter.
