Was the Vastitas Borealis formation emplaced by a mudflow? In this image, it looks like material has deflected around a small hill. Detailed flow morphometry can help us to constrain flow morphology. Vastitas Borealis is the largest lowland region on Mars in the northern latitudes and encircles the polar region.
