This HiRISE image shows a fresh crater with bright, colorful ejecta. The flattish floor is likely due to the impact excavating through the wind-shaped ridges to stronger material below, since bedrock shows through 200 meters to the west; such morphologies are commonly produced by strength contrasts of different geologic units.
