Channels on Northwest Alba Patera
Now known as Alba Mons, the objective of this observation is to examine channels that seem to start at the margin of a lava flow. Alba Mons is the biggest volcano on Mars in terms of surface area, with volcanic flow fields that extend over 1300 kilometers but with an elevation of only 7 kilometers. Its structure has no counterpart on Earth.
