Layered Crater Deposit in Tempe Fossae

Layered Crater Deposit in Tempe Fossae

A Layered Crater Deposit in Tempe Fossae
Tempe Fossae are a group of troughs about 2,000 kilometers long in the Northern Hemisphere of Mars. This observation gives us a look at an impact crater with a sharp rim and large, layered deposits on its floor. Some of the ejecta of the crater even extends into some of the nearby troughs. These troughs are also known as “graben.”
