Portion of Ridge in Northwestern Antoniadi Crater

Portion of Ridge in Northwestern Antoniadi Crater

The Great Sweep
This image, at the northwestern edge of the massive Antoniadi Crater, shows us an exposure of sediment from a possible fluvial ridge (inverted channel). This sweeping feature terminates to the east in a sediment fan. Our science goal is to inspect the sedimentary depositional structures in this area of the crater. Antoniadi is 394 km wide and likely contained rivers and lakes.
