Boundary of Ophir and Candor Chasmata

Boundary of Ophir and Candor Chasmata

At the Boundary of Chasmata
In geology, “superposition” is used by scientists use to determine the relative ages of rock strata, or layers. The oldest rock strata will be on the bottom and the youngest at the top. With this image, we want to investigate the superposition relationship between the layered rocks and wall rock spurs along the boundary between Ophir and Candor Chasmata. This locale is north of Valles Marineris.
