This observation is part of a long-term monitoring campaign of this site to track the wind orientation and seasonal activity. The terrain is considered “non cryptic”, which means that we want to study seasonal processes at a site where the surface and surface ices are different than most of the other parts of the South Polar terrain. This site was originally identified by the citizen scientist project Planet Four.
