This observation features a unique, strange wavy terrain, also visible in Context Camera images, could be evidence of a combination of windblown and fluvial processes. Memnonia Sulci is part of the Medusae Fossae Formation, a region of soft, easily eroded deposits that extends for nearly 5,000km (3,106 mi) along the equator of Mars between Olympus Mons and Apollinaris Mons.
