Chaos Terrain near Hecates Tholus

Chaos Terrain near Hecates Tholus
The blocks/pieces here could formerly have been part of the flank of Hecates Tholus and they could have been flipped during their possibly violent creation, in which case they could be exposing parts of the volcano normally hidden. One of the big blocks targeted here displays a banding that appears to be caused by ridges. These putative ridges may be exposing rock that the block is made of and hence also provide clues to why they formed.
