This plateau is one of the few hypothesized glaciovolcanic landforms on Mars with well-exposed areas and meter-scale and smaller structures. The large outcrops are the only ones in the plateau that face the inferred down-flow direction of the ancient glacier that left a fan-shaped deposit. Any differences in shape between these outcrops and the up-flow facing outcrops in the plateau will help to interpret the landform’s origin.
