Possible Rock Falls on Steep Slopes in Cerberus Fossae

Possible Rock Falls on Steep Slopes in Cerberus Fossae

Chasing Rocky Falls from Orbit
The rationale for this observation was to take an image at HiRISE resolution in order to identify fresh rockfalls that might be able to be associated with seismic events and/or Marsquakes detected by the InSight lander. Our image is also useful for other change detection on steep slopes. Cerberus Fossae are located in Elysium Planitia, southeast of the Elysium Mons volcanic complex. The linear features in the image are tectonic graben.
