Layering in the Medusae Fossae Formation
An adjacent observation shows nice fine layering within an upper section of the Medusa Fossae Formation, which is a soft, easily eroded deposit that extends for nearly 1,000 km along the equator of Mars. It looks like the layering may actually be quite continuous laterally.
