Side Channel in Ares Valles

Side Channel in Ares Valles

Side-Eye for the Side Channel
The objective of this observation is to examine a side channel to a large valley in Ares Vallis. The image includes the beginning of the channel, and the scene is also visible in Context Camera data. Ares Vallis is a large valley that was carved billions of years ago by water flowing across the surface of Mars. Scientists study landforms such as theis to understand how, where and when floods occurred in Mars’ past.
