This wonderful images shows us a nice exposure of stacks of dark layers exposed inside an impact crater in Arabia Terra. Our science goal is to see the layering at the highest resolution, along with what we can learn from a 3D image. The battered region of Arabia Terra is among the oldest terrain on Mars. A dense patchwork of craters from countless impacts testifies to the landscape’s ancient age, dating back billions of years.
