The objective of this observation is to capture a junction where two wind regimes converge stacks of dunes. This image can also provide greater context of a nearby study site, and is part of the USGS dune database. The database makes it possible to look at dunes in a global context, comparing their geographic location and attributes to other global coverages of Mars.
