Double Impact Crater

Double Impact Crater

At the Edge of a Double Impact Crater
This double impact crater is located near the Medusa Fossae Formation, which is at the equator of Mars. This kind of formation is not common on the Red Planet, and our image can be useful to better understand this kind of impact process. Our cutout shows the eastern rims of the craters, along with a prominent dark slope streak.
