This observation focuses on aligned mounds on the Argyre basin floor near a lobate contact. A possibly deflating icy surface with the underlying unit that itself might be an extrusive volcanic deposit. The mounds could be pseudocraters or tumuli, which are small, dome-shaped or elliptical features. The region name stems from the Greek word “argyros” (silver) and Argyre was an “island of silver” in Greek and Roman mythology.
