These streamlined landforms adjacent to Shalbatana Vallis show multiple levels of fluvial dissection. A digital terrain model will help us to study this better. An outflow channel carved by massive floods of escaping groundwater, Shalbatana Vallis is over 1300 km long (808 miles). This channel, and all others in this region, drain into Chryse Planitia.
