A key feature of wind streaks is their high rate of erosion. Dark wind streaks erode a few centimeters a year. The proposed area appears to be a dark wind streak and is rapidly changing. This observation can be compared to past images in order to gather data on the evolving surface conditions and expand data on the composition of Martian soil.
