This impact crater is located in the northern lowlands of Mars. The crater’s center is covered by a dark dune field, likely composed of basaltic sand grains. These are surrounded by intricate,
overlapping gully systems formed in light-toned sediments on all aspects of the crater slopes.
Dark tracks formed by whirlwinds of dust and sediment (known as dust devils) moving across the surface are also visible.
